How to select and choose the right curtains for you?

Our Made to Measure curtains are custom made to your window measurements for the perfect fit.
We offer a selection of different curtain types in our beautiful Sophie Allport prints. Our curtains come in a choice of heading types, eyelet colours, lining types and lining colours.

Choosing your heading and lining types

• Choose from our seven heading types: eyelets, 3” and 6” pencil pleat, 4” and 6” double pinch pleat, 4” and 6” triple pinch pleat.
• Choose from our f our lining options which include Polycotton, Premium Satin, Blackout and Inter lining.
• If choosing eyelets, we offer 40 or 50mm in silver, gold, gunmetal antique brass finish and satin. The Satin eyelet is not available in 50mm.

Curtain Heading Types

Curtain Lining Types
POLY COTTON – (Ivory) Lightweight lining helps protect the fabric from sunlight and filters out light in the room.	SATIN FINISH – (Ivory or white) Medium weight satin gently filters out light, creates an improved drape and finish.	BLACKOUT – (Ivory or white) A heavy weight lining that eliminates light entering through the face of the blind fabric	INTERLINING Extra layer of lining between polycotton, satin finish and blackout, creating a third layer of insulation for the ultimate draped effect

Measuring your width

MEASURING TIPS

1. Record measurements in mm, star t with the width first and then the drop.
2. Measurements must be exact. We will make the necessary allowances for a correct fit.
3. Re-check your width and drop measurements to check accuracy.

TOOLS REQUIRED:

• Metal Measuring Tape
• Pen & Paper

CURTAIN TRACK

STEP 1.
Measure from end to end and record this as your width (e.g. 1000mm) as shown in (fig 1).

CURTAIN TRACKS WITH AN OVERLAP

STEP 1. Measure the width tr ack as shown in (fig 2).

STEP 2. Add the track overlap dimension to the overall track measurements as shown in (fig.2) to give a final measurement (e.g. 1000mm + 100mm + 100mm = 1200mm).

CURTAIN POLES

STEP 1. Measure between the two finials as shown in (fig 3) and record this as your width measurement, (e.g. 800mm).

Measuring your drop

MEASURING DROP FOR EYELET HEADING CURTAINS

STEP 1. Measure from the top side of the pole to the desired length and record as your drop measurement.

STEP 2. Measure in three places (left, middle and right) and record the shortest measurement (e.g. fig.1 your measurement will be 1500mm).

NOTE : Eyelet curtains will fit poles up to 45mm in diameter. The overall drop will be made 30mm longer to allow the curtain to stand off the pole. There will always be an even number of eyelets.
The Satin eyelet is not available in 50mm.

MEASURING DROP FOR PENCIL/PINCH PLEAT HEADING CURTAINS

STEP 1. Measure from the underside of the ring fitting of the curtain pole/track to your desired drop. If you wish for your track to be covered by the curtain, please measure from the top of the tr ack.

STEP 2. Measure in three places (left, middle and right) and record the shortest measurement (e.g. fig.2 your measurement will be 1500mm).

Measuring your curtains

MEASURING WITHOUT A TRACK OR POLE IN POSITION

NOTE: When measuring a window without a track or pole in position we recommend an overlap of 200–300mm at each side and above the window (e.g. A, B, C measurements as show in (fig 1). 300mm at each side is recommended for bedrooms to help minimize light from leaking into the room. We cannot completely eliminate it, but it helps.
If you have an obstruction such as a radiator below a window, measure up to 25mm above the radiator to the bottom of the curtains (e.g. D measurements as shown in (fig.1).
If the pole or tr ack is recessed, measure the actual width of the curtain pole or track.

BAY WINDOWS WITHOUT A TRACK OR POLE IN POSITION

STEP 1. If a track or pole needs to be fitted, fit and measure following the manufacturers instruction recommendations.

STEP 2. Once the track or pole has been fitted follow the instructions below for either the curtain track or curtain pole below depending on which you have fitted.

CURTAIN TRACK

STEP 1. Measure in mm from end to end as shown in (fig 1) and record this as your width measurement.

CURTAIN POLE

STEP 1. Measure in mm between the two finials as shown in (fig 2) and record this as your width measurement.

NOTE: Check corner/joins to ensure eyelets can be fed along the pole as not all bay windows are suitable for eyelet heading curtains, due to the way the pole is fixed to the wall.

STEP 1. Measure from the top side of the pole to the desired length and record this as your drop measurement.

STEP 2. Measure in three places (left, middle and right window) and record the shortest measurement. (E.g. fig.1 your measurement will be 1500mm)

NOTE : Eyelet curtains will fit poles up to 35mm in diameter. The overall drop will be made 30mm longer to allow the curtain to stand off the pole. There will always be an even number of eyelets.

MEASURING DROP FOR PINCH/PLEAT HEADING CURTAINS

STEP 1. Measure from the underside of the ring supplied with the curtain pole/track to your desired drop.

STEP 2. Measure in three places (left, middle and right window) and record the shortest measurement. (E.g. fig.2 your measurement will be 1500mm)

Helpful tips

1. All made to measure curtains can be dry cleaned as standard.
2. Always clean pair s of curtains together and remove any hooks before cleaning
3. We recommend that you hang your curtains and allow them to settle over a few days. The transit creases and folds should drop out.
4. If possible, all curtains should be steamed once hung and allowed to settle for a few days.
5.  Some eyelet curtains may have impression marks. A steamer or warm iron can be used to remove them. Be cautious not to use excessive heat or pressure as this can distort the fabric.

All curtains are made to measure to the dimensions provided at the time of ordering. Refunds and exchanges cannot be given on any made to measure curtains that have been
incorrectly ordered unless deemed faulty.
