IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE USING THIS APPLIANCE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS AND CAUTIONARY MARKINGS IN YOUR USER MANUAL AND ON THE APPLIANCE
When using an electrical appliance, basic precautions should always be followed, including the following:
DANGER!

	Do not immerse the kettle, cord, plug or power base into water or other liquids to avoid hazards.
	Do not touch hot surface. Use handle.
	Never leave the kettle unattended when in use (including when in Keep Warm mode). Keep out of children’s reach.
	Always unplug before moving, cleaning or when not in use.

WARNING

INTENDED USE

• This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by person responsible for their safety.
• Use the appliance only for intended household purposes as described in this User Manual. Any other use is not recommended that may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

RELATED TO USE

• Place the kettle on a dry, flat, stable surface away from the edge of counter to prevent accidental tipping.
• Do not place the kettle (including the base) on or near heat sources such as stovetops, ovens, radiators, etc.
• Do not operate dry or below the “MIN” line.
  Dry boiling the kettle may result in permanent damage and potential fire.
• Do not fill the kettle above the “MAX” line.
  This may cause water to boil over and may cause scalding.
• To disconnect, use the On/Off Switch to turn the kettle off, then remove the plug from the wall outlet.
• Always unplug before moving, cleaning or whenever not in use. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning the appliance.

TO PREVENT SCALDING

• Do not touch hot surface. Use handle.
  Do not touch the heated parts of the base or the walls of the kettle during or immediately after operation.
• Always handle with care when there is hot water inside the kettle.
• Make sure the lid is securely closed while the kettle is operating. Do not cover the spout opening while the kettle is in use.
  Do not cover the openings on the lid.
• Be aware of steam being emitted from spout or lid especially during refilling.

ELECTRICITY SAFETY

• To avoid fire or shock hazard, plug the appliance into a right AC electrical outlet.
  Make sure the voltage indicated on the label of the appliance is the same as your local supply.
• Do not use extension cord. Using accessory attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or injury.
• To avoid an electrical overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.
• Use the included power base only.
• Do not use the kettle if it is malfunctioning, or if any part, including the base, cord, or plug, is damaged in any manner.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
• Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter. Do not allow the cord to touch hot surfaces.
• Never try to repair the unit by yourself.
  Send it to the nearest authorized maintenance center for repair.

USING THE KETTLE

Fill with filtered cold water.
Do not exceed the “MAX” line.Firmly close the lid.Plug in. You will hear one beep.Rotate to set desired temperature.
(104 – 212° F / 40 – 100° C).Done with three beeps.Note: For first time use, empty the kettle, disposing of the boiling water safely.
Rinse thoroughly 2-3 times with cold water.
Keep Warm (HOLD Mode) If the kettle is lifted off the base and then return it to the base, the kettle will reset the 60-minute time and continue heating the water.
Your kettle comes with a built-in Brew Stopwatch.
You can use it as a stopwatch only or keep track of your brew time.
Additional Features When sensing a boil dry situation, the kettle will automatically shut off and go into Standby Mode. You will be alerted by three beeps with “NO WATER” on screen.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Cleaning Surfaces

Wipe with a damp cloth or sponge and immediately dry.
Do not use abrasive soaps, cleansers, or scouring pads.
Use a cotton swab lightly moistened with 75% alcohol.
Wait the alcohol to dry out completely.
Always unplug the kettle from the electrical outlet and allow it to coolcompletel y before cleaning or descaling it.
Removing ScaleNote: For heavy scale, repeat this operation if necessary.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem	Possible Causes	Solution
Error Code “-E-” on LED Display	The kettle body is removed from the power base after connected to power	Place the kettle body back onto the power base within 3 minutes, the kettle will continue working
The kettle does not turn on	The plug is not properly inserted in the power socket	Insert the plug into the powered electrical outlet. Do not use adaptors or extensions
	Lack of power	Check that the main breaker is on
	The cable is defective	Contact Paris Rhône Customer Support. Have the cable replaced at an Authorized Service Centre
	The safety device has tripped out due to the kettle being operated without water	Let the kettle cool down before attempting to boil water again
The kettle turns off before boiling	Excessive scale build-up	Clean and descale more frequently as instructed
	Too little water or no water inside the kettle	Add water until at least the minimum level is reached

WARRANTY AND SERVICE

This product is covered with Paris Rhône product and labor warranty for 12 months from the date of its original purchase.
The warranty will not apply in cases of:

• Accident, misuse, or repairs performed by unauthorized personnel.
• Any unit that has been tampered with or used for commercial purpose.
• Normal wear and tear of wearable parts.
• Use of force, damage caused by external influences.
• Damage caused by non-observance of the User Manual, e.g. connection to an unsuitable mains supply or non-compliance with the instructions.
• Partially or completely dismantled appliances.
• Defects caused by or resulting from damages from shipping or from repairs, service, or alteration to the product or any of its parts that have been performed by a repair person not authorized by Paris Rhône.

We can only provide after sales service for products that are sold by Paris Rhône or Paris Rhône authorized retailers and distributors. If you have purchased your unit from a different place, please contact your seller for return and warranty issues.

· Clean and dry all parts before storing. Store the kettle in its box or in a clean, dry place.
· Never wrap the power cord around the kettle.
This product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it should be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment or as designated officially by the manufacturer.
