The EAL Series Luminaires are designed to provide lighting solutions for challenging sites. The luminaires come with a variety of shielding options to meet different requirements.
Shielding Specification:
Within each shielding family, there are multiple cutoff levels categorized by mounting height (MH) increments. The cutoff distance from the pole ranges from 1MH to 2.5 MH in 0.5 MH increments. The shields listed in the user manual are for the most common applications. For any specific needs not listed, it is recommended to contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
Ordering Guide:
The user manual provides a list of shielded fixture examples along with their corresponding optical codes. The shields listed on the page are all BLACK in color.
Product Usage Instructions
To select the appropriate shield for your application, follow these steps:
- Determine the shield orientation based on the desired lighting direction (e.g., front, back, side).
- Identify the cutoff distance from the pole, ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 MH in 0.5 MH increments.
- Choose the fixture type based on the number of modules required (e.g., 1 module or 2 modules).
- Refer to the “Shield Order Logic” table to find the corresponding shield order code.
- Place an order with the manufacturer using the shield order code and specify the desired color (BLACK).

Due to the extensive variation of parking lot configurations coupled with tightening ordinances,Current now offers a full array of shielding to accommodate challenging sites.
The shielding options available for the Evolve® Area Light focus on the following applications:
- Left & Right Cutoff
- Front Cutoff
- Backlight Control & B-U-G Improvement
Within each of the shielding families, there are multiple shielding cutoff levels that are categorized in mounting height (MH) increments. Current accommodates cutoff distance from the pole from 1MH to 2.5 MH in 0.5 MH increments. The shields that are listed are for the most common applications. Please contact the manufacturer if your need is not listed.
All shields can be installed easily in the field. The next evolution of the Evolve® LED Area Light and shielding options will help you meet any parking lot challenge.
