HOW TO USE THE APPLIANCE
After unpacking the appliance, make sure it has not been damaged during transport. In case of any doubts, do not use the appliance until consulting a service centre. Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the frying basket and the fat container.
Filling the fat container
Place the appliance on a flat, hard and stable surface resistant to high temperatures.
– Open the lid by pressing the button (4).
– Raise the frying basket with the use of the handle (10) (the handle will lock) and pull it out, releasing it from the catch.
– Fill the container with fat (about 2-2.5 l).
It is recommended to use pure vegetable oil. Do not mix different types of oil or fat. The oil level may not exceed the markings inside the container. In case of using solid vegetable fat, cut it up into small pieces, melt in a separate dish and pour into the deep fryer (900 g of solid fat is equivalent to 1 litre of oil). Never place the fat directly on the frying basket as it may cause damage to the appliance.
Placing products in the appliance
– Open the lid (5) of the deep fryer by pressing the button (4).
– Place the frying basket back into the appliance fot.1
– Place the prepared products in the frying basket.
– Close the lid of the deep fryer by pressing it lightly until it audibly clicks in. Turning the deep fryer on
Set the thermostat knob (9) and the ON/OFF switch (1) to position “0”. Plug the appliance in. Set the switch (1) to position “1”. The indicating lamp (3) signals that the deep fryer is in operation. Turn the temperature controller (9) to the desired temperature of frying.
The thermostat is calibrated in steps marked 150ºC, 170ºC and 190ºC. After about 10 minutes the fat reaches the right temperature. When frying, the indicating lamp of the thermostat (7) may light up and go out several times. The lamp goes out when the desired temperature is reached. After frying, raise the frying basket and leave it to drip off phot1.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Fat container
The fat must be changed on a regular basis (every 8 to 12 frying sessions), not only to achieve the best flavour but also to ensure lightness of dishes. The nutrition value of the fried dishes depends largely on the quality of the fat. Do not pour away the used fat into the sink. It is better to cool it down and throw away in the rubbish bin. Before pouring away the fat and cleaning the container, remove the lid by opening and releasing it from the hinges at the back wall of the body of the deep fryer. Wash the container with hot water, washing-up liquid and a sponge. Do not use any scrubbing agents. If the container is burnt, we recommend soaking it in water for about 30 min before washing. Dry the container carefully before using. The appliance must not be immersed in water. - Lid.
Remove the lid (phot. 2) from the hinges of the appliance body. Clean with a moist cloth with some washing-up liquid. Dry the lid carefully before putting it back into place. - Frying basket
Wash the frying basket with hot water, using a cloth and washing-up liquid. - Appliance body
The outside surfaces and the conductor should be cleaned with a moist cloth. Do not use any scrubbing agents or sharp tools. Before putting the appliance away, coil the conductor at the back. - Filter
There is a filter in the lid of the appliance (phot. 3). Its condition should be checked regularly. If dirty, the filter should be replaced.PRACTICAL ADVICE
– Do not place too much food in the frying basket.
– Do not add water to oil as it will lower its quality.
– Do not mix fresh oil with the old one.
– Do not mix different types of fats.
– Make sure the food you use is as dry as possible and remove frost from deep-frozen products.
– in case of intensely frosted products – immerse the basket with the meal, wait approx. 10 seconds, and only then close the lid of the fryer. Otherwise steam may condense inside the fryer, which will lead to steam leakages from the side of the device
– When frying, do not lean over the lid of the deep fryer, in particular when the deep fryer is open and full of hot fat.
– In case of any irregularities regarding the operation of the appliance, consult an authorised Service Centre.
Any repairs, including replacement of power cord, can be carried out only by an authorised repair shop.
– Do not place the deep fryer in the vicinity of heat sources.
– If the deep fryer is not used very often, the oil can be kept in a separate container in the fridge.
– The power cord can be coiled around the handle at the back of the casing.
