Theo The Raven Saves Christmas
Contents
Introduction
Dear Parents,
Do you already know Theo the Raven? He and his friends will experience many adventures in this story book.
A few days before Christmas, lots of beautifully wrapped gifts suddenly appear in the snowy forest. Maybe Santa accidentally lost them?
Theo the Raven is determined to find out. All sorts of things will go wrong as the animals get things ready for Christmas, and they’ll need Theo’s help. The little raven will have his wings full trying to save the party. He’ll be so busy that time flies.
Every day your child will be surprised and enchanted by a small wooden figure behind the calendar door. There is also a new chapter to read aloud in the storybook every day. Children can discover many exciting details in the large Christmas scene, and put the wooden figures in their appropriate places. This playfully encourages your child to speak and teil stories. Naturally, the figures are also perfect for free play.
We hope you and your child have hours of fun with Theo the Raven and his friends.
Your Inventors for Children
It’s Raining Gifts!
The moon has risen over the snowy forest and all the animals are fast asleep. ALL of them?
Not quite! One little raven is still awake — Theo has been rolling around restlessly in his nest for hours, but he just can‘t get to sleep. The only thing that helps sometimes is closing his eyes and counting feathers. “One, two, three, four, five…” counts Theo the Raven.
But almost as soon as he starts, he is interrupted. Santa suddenly comes flying through the sky with his big sleigh.
It is pulled by four reindeer and fully loaded with piles of lovingly wrapped gifts. Suddenly, Santa turns the reindeer a different direction in the middle of the snowy forest, and a few gifts tumble off the sled and fall into the soft snow. It’s raining gifts!” says Theo in amazement. He can hardly believe his eyes. But before he knows it, the sleigh has disappeared. “Well, what about that,” says Theo shaking his head. “Santa didn‘t even notice that he lost some of his gifts! I’ll have to take a closer look tomorrow.”
What color is the ribbon on the gift that Theo the Raven found?
Surprise on the Ice
As the sun rises above the snowy forest, Theo the Raven slowly opens his eyes, yawns and stretches his wings. Then he remembers what happened last night. Santa flew over the snowy forest with his sleigh and lost a whole lot of gifts! Theo decides to check whether it was all a dream and quickly discovers one of the gifts on the frozen pond. “So i wasn’t dreaming after all,” mumbles Theo the Raven as he lands on the shore.
He runs into his friend Franz the Wild Boar. The Little wild boar glides elegantly over the smooth ice on his skates.
“Good morning Franz,” calls Theo loudly. “Good morning Theo,” replies Franz, skating to shore. “Did you notice the gift over there?” asks Theo. “Of course,” answers Franz. The little raven tells Franz what he saw the night before. “Oh dear,” says Franz the Wild Boar. “What should we do now?”
“Can you bring me the package from the pond?” asks Theo.
“T’ll take it down to the barn and hide it until Christmas.”
What does Franz the Wild Boar have on his head?
A Fun Sied Ride
It snowed heavily last night in the forest and big white flakes are still falling from the sky. Penny the Piglet and her two brothers have been pressing their little snouts against the barn window for quite a while. “Woohoo, it’s snowing!” cheers Penny.
“Yes! We have to go sledding right away,” squeal her two younger brothers together.
Immediately after breakfast, the three piglets race outside. There is So much snow on the ground that their short legs sink in all the way up to their little bellies. Together they pull the big wooden sled up the hill behind the barn.
Once they get to the top, they ail sit on the sled together and race down the hill at top speed. The little piglets squeal with delight and can‘t get enough of sledding. They pull the sled up the mountain over and over again. Time flies and they only go back to the barn when their mom calls to tell them that it’s time to eat. When the three cuddle up together in their warm bed of straw that night they fall asleep in an instant and dream… of sledding!
What do the piglets do on their wild sled ride?
Strike in the Henhouse
Today, as he does every morning, Henry the Rooster wakes up the animals in the barn with a loud “cock-a-doodle-doo.”
But, unlike other mornings, today the chickens don’t get up. Instead they cuddle down a little deeper in their warm straw beds. “We want to sleep a little Longer,” mumbles one of them. “That’s right!” clucks another one, opening one eye slightly, “We’re tired from laying so many eggs.”
“Not possible!” cries Henry indignantly, who then crows particularly loud – “cock-a-doodle-dooooooo!!!” But when the chickens don‘t react, he stamps outside at a loss. He’ll have to try and wake them again later. Right next to the barn, Henry suddenly discovers a square, orange object with a red bow lying in the snow. When Henry gets closer, he is amazed to see that it‘s a gift. “Could it be for me?“
Henry the Rooster looks around, but there’s nobody to be seen. He picks at the bow with his beak, but when it doesn‘t come undone immediately he gives up and puts the gift under his wing. “I guess I’ll have to wait until Christmas,”
mumbles Henry. “Surely someone will help me open it then.”
What’s in the snow next to Henry the Rooster’s gift?
No More Cold Ears
Barb the Beaver always has a lot to do. She tirelessly fells one tree after the other using only her big, strong teeth.
This morning she needs to fell a particularly tall tree right on the shore of the frozen pond. “Wow, the wind is really cold today,” chatters Barb the Beaver. She generally doesn’t mind snow and cold thanks to her thick, warm coat, but her ears do sometimes get cold in winter! Barb sighs and continues nibbling on the tree trunk, but then stops suddenly.
“Wait a second, what’s that?” says the beaver astonished. She sees a pink gift with a red bow nearby in the reeds. “Strange… it’s not even Christmas yet!” Barb thinks to herself.
“I guess [ could take a little peek… just a very quick little peek…” she mumbles. In no time at all she has opened the red bow and taken the lid off the box. Her mouth drops open in wonder. “Oh… it’s a hat!” cries Barb in amazement. “A beautiful red hat!” She quickly puts it on and grins from (warm) ear to (warm) ear. The hat is perfect for her. Her ears will never be cold again! Can you find the Barb the Beaver in the Christmas picture?
Visiting Erna the Owl
This evening, Theo the Raven visits his good friend, Erna the Clever Owl. “Heilo Erna,” calls Theo the Raven from afar, before landing on a snowy branch next to Erna’s tree hollow. Erna sleepily pokes her head out of the hollow and puts on her thick glasses.
“Oh, hello Theo,” Erna greets him and yawns. “What’s up?” She’s not fully awake yet because she usually gets up at night. “Have you noticed that there are colorful gifts strewn all over the forest?” asks Theo the Raven.
“Yes,” answers Erna the Owl. “I found a gift too. It landed here on the tree, right in front of my tree hollow.”
“And?” asks Theo curiously “Have you already opened it?” “No,” responds Erna, “it’s supposed to be a surprise for Christmas.” Theo the Raven nods in agreement, but then he has another question. “But what if someone happens to find a gift and already opens it?” Erna the Clever Owl smiles. “Well of course that’s not the plan, but it’s also not the end of the world. The main thing is that everyone is happy with their gift.”
What does Erna have under her wing? Can you tell?
A New Home for Igor the Hedgehog
Igor the Hedgehog has been desperately Looking for a new home for days. His old winter hideaway, a large, warm pile of leaves, blew away during the last storm. The Little hedgehog yawns. He is very, very tired and can hardly keep his eyes open. It’s no wonder ~ usually he would be sound asleep by this time of year, and not wake up until next spring. Suddenly, Igor and his little snout bump into something pink with big white dots. “Well, what’s this?” cries Igor the Hedgehog in astonishment. He looks at the strange thing and then carefully sniffs it.
“Hoot hoot, don’t you recognize it?” asks a voice from above. It’s Erna the Clever Owl, who happened to be flying by. The little hedgehog shakes his head in bewilderment.
“It’s a gift box. Hoot hoot. But it’s empty. Someone has already taken the gift out!” she calls and flies away. Igor the Hedgehog is baffled. Then he carefully slips through the hole on the side and looks in amazement at the inside of the box. Perfect! There‘s plenty of room to sleep and it’s warm too. “I finally have a beautiful, new home,”
says Igor the Hedgehog happily as he rolls himself up and falls asleep.Who is Igor the Hedgehog’s neighbor in his new home? Do you recognize them?
Benni’s Picnic
Benni the Brown Bear has been running around his den impatiently all morning. He can hardly wait for Christmas to finally come. “Unfortunately, you have to wait quite a few more days. More days than you can count on your two paws,” says Mama Bear. “But i have a little consolation for you – your friend Elias the Polar Bear is coming to visit us soon and will stay until Christmas.” “woohoo!”
Benni cheers and jumps around his mother. “Then we can do a lot of fun things together!” “what about a picnic?” suggests Mama Bear. “Why don’t you go out and look for a nice spot for it — but not too far from the cave, OK?” Benni nods and claps his paws excitedly. He loves picnics. And because it’s nearly lunchtime, Mama Bear gives her son something to eat and drink before he runs outside. Not long afterwards, Benni finds a great place for a picnic. That’s not all – he also discovers a square pink thing with white dots that is perfect for him to sit on. As Benni sits there snacking on his apple and honey, he thinks of lots of fun things that he wants to do with Elias the Polar Bear when he comes to visit.
Which spot did Benni the Brown Bear choose for his picnic? Can you find it in the Christmas picture?
The Smell of Cookies
Today, Benni the Brown Bear wakes unusually early because it is a very special day for him. His friend Elias the Polar Bear is coming to visit. First they play catch in the cave before racing outside to have a snowball fight. In the afternoon, Mama Bear calls the two inside. She has made cookie dough and asks if the two bears want to help her cut out the cookies. “Sure!” answer Benni and Elias together. After the two have washed their paws, they start cutting the cookies right away. Soon the first sheet is in the oven and a wonderful smell of cookies spreads around the bear cave. The cookies have hardly cooted down before Benni and Elias steal one. Then another, and just one more… Mama Bear may have her back turned, but she still notices the two little cookie thieves. “IF you keep eating like that there won’t be any left by Christmas,” she laughs. “But you’re right, these cookies taste best fresh,” she says and pops one in her mouth too. “Mmm, they really are delicious. We’d better bake a second tray right away.”
Elias the Polar Bear is visiting Benni the Brown Bear.
Take Elias and place him next to Benni.
A Difficult Laundry Day
This sunny December afternoon, Rachel the Racoon strolls through the snowy forest. She’s on her way to the pond to wash her blue scarf, which is quite dirty. But when Rachel gets there she stops in surprise. The entire pond is covered with a thick layer office. “On no!” cries Rachel. “Today is laundry day!”
She walks back and forth at a loss until Theo the Raven happens to fly over. “Hello Rachel, how are you?”
asks Theo as he hops from one foot to the other. “Look, the whole pond is frozen. Today of all days, when I wanted to wash my scarf!” grumbles Rachel the Racoon as she kicks her foot against a pile of snow that’s in her way.
“Ouch, ouch, ouch,” cries Rachel. Her foot hit a square pink thing that was hidden under the snow pile. “Well, what’s that?” asks Rachel the Racoon. “It’s a gift box,” explains Theo the Raven. Once Rachel hears that, she naturally needs to look inside immediately. All of a sudden her eyes light up and all her anger disappears, because inside the box she finds a beautiful red and yellow striped scarf that perfectly matches the color of her fur.
What does Rachel the Racoon find in the snow?
The Gift Finder
The moon has just come up behind the tall fir trees as Fridolin the Fox roams through the snowy forest. He sniffs excitedly over the snow with his sensitive nose.
All of a sudden he stops as his nose almost hits a square, pink object. “Aha, so that’s what it was that smelis so interesting. A gift!” whispers Fridolin. He immediately recognizes what he found. Foxes not only have an excellent sense of smell, they’re also very clever.
“Stop, don’t open it!” calls an agitated voice from above.
“The gift is meant for Christmas!” calls Theo the Raven, who happened to be flying past and lands on the snow next to Fridolin. “I know that,” says Fridolin. “But the bow on the gift was Loose so i just wanted to re-tie it.” Fridolin expertly takes the ribbon in his mouth ties it around the gift.
“Come on, let’s see if we can find more gifts in the forest.
Then we can take them to the barn so that they don’t get unwrapped before Christmas,” suggests Theo. The two of them head off together and roam around the snowy forest.
What color is the bow that Fridolin the Fox retied?
Klara the Calf is Sick
It’s not your average morning because it snowed overnight and because Klara the Calf has woken up with bad sore throat. “Breakfast is ready!” calls Klara’s mom, but Klara doesn’t feel like getting up at all. “Ouch, my throat is really scratchy,” complains Klara. “I don’t think I can eat anything at all!” The little calf has tears in her eyes, because she was really looking forward to playing outside with her friends today. Klara’s mom strokes her head to comfort her. “I’ll make you some warm milk with honey. It’s really good for sore throats.” Klara is still sad, but when she drinks the first sip of honey milk her throat hurts a little less. She snuggles up in her warm bed again and falls fast asleep.
After a few hours, Klara wakes up again and already feels a lot better. She suddenly hears someone calling her name loudly from outside. When she gets to the window and Looks out, her mouth falls open in amazement. Outside, in front of the barn, her friends Penny the Piglet and her brothers have built a giant snowman. “This snowman is for you!” shouts Penny the Piglet when Klara opens the window.
“Tomorrow, when you’re healthy again, we’ll build another one!” “Yes please! That’s a great idea!” Klara is delighted.
When she goes to bed that evening, she already has a picture in her head of exactly what the snowman will look like.

A Playmate Made of Snow
Hannes the Rabbit is annoyed as he hops through the snowy forest this morning. “Nobody has time to play with me today!” He hops faster and faster with irritation. Suddenly he stumbles and falls in the snow, where he makes a couple of somersaults before coming to a stop. “just as well the snow is so soft,” mumbles Hannes and shakes it out of his fur.
Then he suddenly has a realization. “If nobody has time to play with me today, I’ll just play alone,” thinks Hannes.
“And I already know what I’ll do!” He skillfully shapes a small, firm snowball with his paws and slowly rolls it along in front of him through the sticky snow until it grows into a large ball. This is the body for his snowman. Now Hannes needs to roll a second, smaller ball of snow for the head.“But how will I manage to put one ball on top of the other?” wonders Hannes. He suddenly discovers a square, pink object, a gift box, nearby. Hannes pushes the box over to his snowman, climbs on top and, just like that, finishes his snowman.
Take another close look at Hannes the Rabbit. What is he wearing around his neck?
Where Are the Christmas Decorations
One afternoon in the middle of December, Kira the Kitten and her three friends romp around the attic of the farmhouse together playing catch. “You can‘t catch me, you can‘t catch me,” calls Kira as she runs away from the others. “Yes we can!” call the other two kittens and both pounce on Kira at the same time. But Kira is quick and manages to get away just in time. “So long!” she calls to the two as she escapes. She keeps running and crashes head-first into a large cardboard box. It wobbles dangerously back and forth then falls over. First it clatters then something breaks.
Kira the Kitten shakes herself and rubs her head. All three kittens quickly see what has happened – the cardboard box is full of glass balls, some of which are now broken but fortunately not all of them. “Well, what’s going on here?” asks Kira’s mother as she comes into the attic. She heard the noise and came quickly. “We found the Christmas decorations that everyone has been Looking for for days,” says Kira, so proudly that her mom can’t really be angry but instead even has a hint of a smile.

The Nuts Are Gone
Christmas is coming up quickly and Elmar the Squirrel really needs to start baking his delicious nut cookies soon.
The most important ingredient is, naturally, nuts.
He quickly puts on his blue hat and heads off to the place where he hid iots of nuts in fall – the tree hollow of an old, rotten fir tree. But when Elmar the Squirrel arrives there, he lets out a cry of dismay – “The nuts are gone!
Someone stole my nuts!” He climbs out of the tree hollow and sits sadly on a tree branch. “I can’t make any nut cookies without nuts!”
Theo the Raven comes past and lands next to the squirrel.
“Hello Elmar, you look sad… what happened?” asks Theo.
Elmar tells him the whole story. “Hmm, we have to do some- thing,” ponders Theo the Raven, who scratches his head thoughtfully.
He quickly comes up with an idea. “Come on, let’s ask the other squirrels if they have a few nuts left over for you. If everyone gives you just one or two nuts each, then you’ll have enough to bake your cookies!” suggests
Theo the Raven. So the two of them head off to ask the other squirrels.
Have you worked out how to recognize Elmar the Squirrel?
He wears a blue hat.
The Snow Rabbit
Heiko the Rabbit is hopping through the forest. He’s looking for his best friend, Hannes the Rabbit. The two friends play together as often as possible. “Hannes, where are you?” calls Heiko as he hops to the forest clearing where the two usually meet. But he doesn’t get an answer. All of a sudden Heiko stops, because there is an amazing snowman in front of him. “Well, where did that come from?” asks Heiko in amazement.
“T built it!” calls a voice that Heiko knows very well. It’s Hannes the Rabbit, who happens to be hopping by. “Isn’t it great?” asks Hannes proudly. “Yes,” agrees Heiko as he inspects the snowman from all around. He suddenly comes up with a fun idea. “What about turning the snowman into a snow rabbit?” suggests Heiko. “Oh yes! We can give it long rabbit ears,” says Hannes as he enthusiastically claps his paws. The two rabbits shape ears out of snow and transform the snowman into a beautiful snow rabbit in no time at all. Once they’re finished, Heiko calls “Come on, Hannes, tet’s play catch now!” Hannes naturally doesn’t need to be asked twice, and races across the clearing as quick as can be.

Frida the Foal’s Hiding Place
It’s a cold afternoon in December. Frida the Foal and three of her friends meet in the meadow behind the barn to play hide-and-seek. Today Frida is the first to search. She closes her eyes and starts counting loudly. “One, two, three…”
When she makes it to ten she calls “Ready or not, here I come!” and opens her eyes. There’s nobody to be seen in the meadow at all, and Frida quickly starts searching.
She finds the first foal at the edge of the forest behind a pine tree, the second hidden behind a bare tree on the edge of the frozen pond, and the third behind Simon the Snowman. “Yay, I found you all!” Frida cheers as the four foals come together in the meadow again to play another round of hide-and-seek.
Now Frida needs to find a good hiding piace. She quickly gallops away from the meadow and around the barn. Then she takes a quick break to Look around. Where can she hide?
“eight, nine, ten. Ready or not, here I come!” calls her friend from the meadow. Now Frida needs to find a good hiding spot quickly. Alt of a sudden she sees the front door of the farmhouse, which is decorated with a beautiful Christmas wreath. She carefully opens the door a little and slips into the house. “I’ve never found such a great hiding place,” murmurs Frida as she looks out the window..
“Whinny, I wonder how tong it will take the others to find me?”
Frida has hidden in the farmhouse. Can you find the door with the wreath in the Christmas picture?
The Christmas Egg
This December afternoon, Herta the Hen sits impatiently on her straw nest in the henhouse. She has been trying to lay an egg all day, but it just isn’t working. A friend recently told her that it’s easier to lay an egg if you hum a song.
So Herta hums one song after another until her throat starts to get sore from all the humming. “This doesn’t seem to be helping,” Herta decides. “If you think of something very nice, then the egg will almost Lay itself,” was another friend’s advice. So Herta tries to think about something very nice. She closes her eyes and imagines a large mountain of delicious grains. But that doesn’t help either – on the contrary, Herta‘s stomach suddenly starts rumbling loudly.
Suddenly there is a very loud “Cock-a-doodle-doo!” from out in the farmyard. Henry the Rooster is scolding the other hens. The shock suddenly makes Herta the Hen Lay her egg.
It’s much bigger and more beautiful than the other eggs she has laid so far. “I’m going to give someone this egg for Christmas,” says Herta proudly. But now she needs some fresh air, so she quickly ties a scarf around her neck and flutters out into the evening.
Can you find Herta the Hen in the Christmas picture?
What about some other hens?
Lena’s Christmas Gifts
At the sheep school, today was the last day of lessons before the Christmas holidays. Lena the Lamb heads home with her friends. As always, the little lambs have a lot to talk about, but Lena is very quiet and feels glum. “What’s up with you, Lena?“ asks Leonie the Lamb. “Are you sad?” Lena nods, “Yes, a little. Because I don’t know what to give my family for Christmas.” Leonie thinks briefly and says: “I think I have a great idea for you!” She whispers quietly into Lena’s ear. “That’s a great idea,” says Lena enthusiastically.
The tittle lamb walks home quickly. Once there she looks for her knitting needles and some colorful balls of wool.
She will knit cuddly warm scarves for her parents and siblings this Christmas, just like she learned to do at school. She gets to work quickly — knit one, purl one, knit one, purl one… and the time flies. By the end of the afternoon she has already finished her first scarf. “Wow, I need a little break,” sighs Lena as she gets dressed to go outside.
She suddenly discovers something that smells wonderful – a freshly baked gingerbread house decorated with pink icing. She would love to take a bite, but that’s not allowed until Christmas so she has to wait another five days.
Can you find the gingerbread house in the snow?
Footprints in the Snow
Today, Rosi the Fawn and her mom want to bake deticious chestnut biscuits for Christmas. But when Rosi’s mom goes to make the dough, she realizes that there aren’t enough chestnuts anymore. “I can go to the neighbors quickly and ask if they can give us a few chestnuts” suggests Rosi.
“Good idea,” says Rosi’s mom. “But go quickly and don’t dawdle,” “OK!” calls Rosi and runs off.
On the way she suddenly discovers some footprints in the snow. Curious, Rosi follows them further and further into the forest. But then the footprints stop suddenly. “Where did they go?” wonders Rosi, and when she looks around she is shocked to see that she is lost. Can you find Rosi the Fawn in the Christmas picture?
Simon the Snowman
Simon the Snowman yawns widely, but not because he’s tired, he’s just very, very bored. Ail day and all night he stands next to the farmhouse watching the forest animals, who are busy preparing for Christmas. “I would really like to help,” says Simon the Snowman sadly. “But unfortunately there’s nothing I can do!” Erik the Squirrel happens to be hopping past. He has just picked up a nut from his winter stash and is now nibbling on it. “Hello Simon,” says the little squirrel between bites. “Why are you so sad?”
“Oh, it’s nothing much, I’d just really like to help with preparations for the party, but nobody needs my help,” Simon says sadly. “Hmm, we’ll have to do something about that,” ponders Erik.He jumps from one foot to the other and thinks.
Then he suddenly has an idea. “I know what you can do,” says Erik, and climbs up onto Simon’s shoulder to whisper the idea in his ear. “What about helping the animals to put up the Christmas decorations properly?” “But how can I do that?” asks Simon bewildered. “All I do is stand around the whole day.” “That‘s right,” says Erik the Squirrel grinning. “So you always have a good eye on everything and can tell the others when they need to hang the garlands a little higher or Lower.” Simon thinks this is a wonderful idea and is no longer sad.
What color is Simon the Snowman’s hat?
Garland Making
There are now only two days left untit Christmas Eve and all the animals are looking forward to the celebration. But the hens in the henhouse are flustered, because the garlands for the Christmas tree still need to be made and each hen has a different idea of what they should look like. “Stop!” calls Hilde the Hen finally. “You can‘t alt talk over each other!” The other hens are suddenly quiet for a moment.
“What about making a garland with stars?” suggests Hilde.
“Who’s in favor?” Four hens raise their wings. “And who is against?” Only two hens raise their wings. “Good,” says Hilde and nods. “Then we’ll make star garlands. Do you know how to?” The other hens shake their heads so Hilde explains it in detait.
Once again, the hens cluck wildly amongst themselves.
They can‘t agree about who should do what. “Stop!” calls Hilde the Hen again. “Each of us can take turns cutting and folding paper. We can also take turns gluing.” Everyone likes this idea and soon they have made three beautiful star garlands. Then, before the hens can start another argument about who is allowed to fasten the garlands, Hilde makes a suggestion, “We can simply hang them up together.”
There are a lot of orange hens in the Christmas picture.
Hilde the Hen is sitting next to the chimney on the roof.

The Broken Glass Ball
It’s December 23, the day before Christmas Eve, but there is still a lot to do. The large pine tree next to the farmhouse needs to be festively decorated.
A perfect task for Eva the Squirrel. She dashes up and down the tree trunk over and over again to attach the individual candles to the branches. It’s exhausting work, and once the last candle is finally in place she takes a little break to eat a hazelnut and regain her strength. Then she starts attaching the beautiful red glass balls. “These balls shine so beautifully,” says Eva in delight. “I can even see my own reflection.” The Little squirrel looks at her face reflected in the glass ball and makes one funny face after the other. And then an accident happens – the glass bail fails out of her fingers onto the forest floor and breaks.
“Oh dear!” cries Eva the Squirre.. “Now we’re one ball short. What should I do?”
She paces thoughtfully back and forth along a branch. Then she suddenly has an idea. She quickly goes home and gets a beautiful, big, red apple that she collected in autumn and hangs it all the way at the top of the tree instead of the broken glass ball. And indeed — from a distance, the red apple looks almost the same as a ball. Eva sighs in relief and then decorates the rest of the tree.
Have you already found Eva the Squirrel in the Christmas picture?
Hint: She’s sitting on a branch of the Christmas tree.
Christmas in the Snowy Forest
Theo the Raven wakes up much earlier than usual this morning, because it’s a very special day – Christmas Eve!
The animals in the snowy forest have finished all their preparations just in time for the celebration. The Christmas tree is also wonderfully decorated for Christmas. But before all the forest animals come to open their presents that evening, Theo the Raven still needs to take care of one important thing in the barn – the gifts. After Santa Claus dropped the gifts from the sled a little while back, some of the animals came across a gift and already unwrapped it.
Theo the Raven brought all the packages that the animals didn’t discover into the barn and hid them under a pile of straw.
Now Theo brings out the gifts and piles them up in order of size to make a tower. It’s exhausting work and takes quite a while to do. In the meantime, it has grown dark outside and all the forest animals slowly gather in front of the barn to marvel at the beautiful Christmas tree. “Now there’s just one thing missing – Santa Claus,” says Theo the Raven as he looks around. At that exact moment, Santa and his big reindeerdrawn sleigh appear. It is loaded with gifts and comes to a stop in the snow. “Hohoho, that was a fast ride,” laughs Santa Claus. “My reindeer sometimes get a little carried away.”
He climbs off the sleigh and comes over to the forest animals. “Where is Theo the Little Raven?” asks Santa Claus. Theo hesitantly emerges from the circle of animals and walks up to Santa. “My dear Theo,” says Santa Claus, “you will receive the first and biggest gift this evening, because you have done so many good things in the run-up to Christmas. I want to reward that!” He then gives Theo the Raven a large gift box. Excitedly, Theo unties the bow and opens the box to see a beautiful red hat! “Thank you!” says Theo the Raven as he hops around joyfully.
“But how do you know what I did?” asks the little raven. “That’s my little secret,” says Santa Claus with a smile. And with that, everyone goes into the barn together to celebrate Christmas. The farmyard animals are very excited. All of a sudden, a few days before Christmas, lots of beautifully wrapped gifts appear. Maybe Santa accidentally lost them? Theo the Raven is determined to find out. The animals also need Theo’s help with all the preparations that need to be done before Christmas.
So the little raven has plenty to do and the children learn what he needs to do every day when they open a calendar door.
Lovingly designed play materials lets them actively experience and recreate the Christmas story.
Play and read togethor to help make the time before Christmas fly by!
