ESG-FF Felling Foot

The Baby Lock Felling Foot has a 4mm underfoot groove which is perfect for making flat felled seams and for turning narrow edges and hems on lightweight fabrics.
A flat felled seam is the preferred seam for men’s and women’s shirts and children’s casual garments. In a felled seam, the fabric seam allowances are both encased and stitched with a double row of topstitching.

MACHINE SETTINGS

Stitch: Straight stitch
Stitch length: 2-2.5mm

Here’s how to make a perfect felled seam with your Baby Lock Felling Foot:

  1. Place wrong sides of your fabric together and stitch a 5/8” seam, using a stitch length of 2-2.5mm. Press the seam to one side. Trim the lower seam allowance to 3/8.”
  2. Turn the top seam allowance under 1/4” and press.
  3. Place the fold in the groove of the foot. Edge stitch, guiding the fold to the inside edge of the curl in the felling foot.
